FRSC records 42 percent reduction in road crashes in 2014


As the February 2015 elections approaches, the Federal Road Safety Commission says it is working with relevant stakeholders to create an environment free from traffic during campaigns. The Corp Marshal and Chief Executive of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi made this declaration in Abuja at the press briefing  for the 2014 Special Ember Months Patrol and the unveiling of the Corps 2015 strategic goals.

  Mr Oyeyemi said the FRSC will continue to educate political parties on the need to abide by traffic rules and regulation.
While elaborating on the data for the 2014 ember months patrol operations, he said there was a recorded 42 percent reduction in road crashes across the country, which he attributed to round the clock survey of major roads by FRSC officers.

The FRSC boss further said the commission will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the country experiences less road accidents in 2015.
