Who the Cap Fits...

The entertainment industry is like the open ocean. It welcomes all, some ride it's waves while others drown in it. Staying afloat in such turbulent waves takes more than talent... it demands a business acumen. Big time entertainers in the world have diversified their portfolios, coming out with Perfumes, T-Shirts, Lipsticks and lots of other products, it's no suprise then seeing Nigerian entertainers towing the same light. D'banj first came up with Koko Mobile, Ruggedman came out with his own clothing line and shoes for females and Durella had his customized shoes in the market.... but now someone has decided to 'Cap' it all up.

Having held down the turn tables for more than a decade now, Jimmy Amu popularly known as Cool Dj Jimmy Jatt recently decided to have his own signature face cap, trust me it's been a long time coming.

The quality of these caps is simply of international standard, quite affordable, durable and trendy. I have my reservations with regards to the design though as it only celebrates LASGIDI... what Happened to J- Town, B-Syde, Rock City, KayDee...? I feel it's basically for Lagosians.

With this trend though, Nigerian Dj's have established themselves in the A list category of Celebrities around the world. Most importantly, when the Giggs don't come, it dosen't imply a stop to income as this other venture would always pay off.

The question now is who's next? Who will be blazing the trail with some new innovative fashion trend or item good enough to be regarded as an international symbol? Maybe one of these traditional wrappers can be endorsed by a female celebrity... just thinking out loud.

World's smallest dog, Beyonce, fits on an iPhone

  • Tiny puppy was last out from a litter of five
  • Revived after she was born with no heartbeat
  • Now doing well but still needs hourly milk feeds
The puppy named Beyonce after one of the world's biggest pop stars could set the world's record for tiniest dog.

MEET the tiny pup vying for the title of world's smallest dog - a miniscule Dachsund mix who fits on an iPhone.
The 10cm pup called Beyonce was so tiny when she was born she could fit onto a spoon.
Rescuers at the Grace Foundation Animal Shelter in northern California plucked pregnant mum Casey from the streets and oversaw the birth of the five pup litter on March 8.

Animal rescuers in Northern California say that Beyonce was so small at birth that she could fit into a spoon.

Itty-bitty Beyonce was last out, but vets had to work frantically to revive her with chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation when she was born with no heartbeat.
Now three-weeks-old, the pint-sized pup named after one of the world's most famous popstars is being fed hourly through a bottle.
To show just how small she is the Dachshund mix puppy, named Beyonce is photographed next to a cookie.

The proud team who brought her back to life have submitted an application to Guinness World Records to have her crowned world's smallest dog.
It would be a doggone shame if she missed out.

It's Official: Chocolate Helps You Lose Weight

Chocolate lovers no longer have to fear the flab as eating more can help you keep slim, new research claims.

A study has found that despite boosting calorie intake, regular chocolate consumption is related to lower body mass index (BMI).

The effect is modest but greater than can be explained by chance, say the US researchers who took account of influencing factors such as overall fat consumption and exercise.
BMI relates height and weight and is the standard measurement used to assess levels of obesity.
The good news about chocolate emerged after scientists screened a group of 972 men and women with an average age of 57 for a study of statins - cholesterol-lowering drugs.
Among other diet and lifestyle questions, participants were asked: "How many times a week do you consume chocolate?"
Chocolate is known to contain plant chemicals called polyphenols that combat heart disease and may influence metabolism.
The researchers suspected they might, to some extent at least, off-set the unwelcome effects of high saturated fat levels in chocolate bars and sweets.
No account was taken of different types of chocolate, some of which contain more healthy elements than others.

The results showed that chocolate was not only "calorie neutral" but actually appeared to make people slimmer.
Participants who ate chocolate on more days of the week than average were statistically likely to have a lower BMI than those who did not.
This was despite the fact that people who ate more chocolate did not consume fewer calories overall, or take more exercise.
Study leader Dr Beatrice Golomb, from the University of California at San Diego, said: "Our findings appear to add to a body of information suggesting that the composition of calories, not just the number of them, matters for determining their ultimate impact on weight.
"In the case of chocolate, this is good news - both for those who have a regular chocolate habit, and those who may wish to start one."

SAVED BY THE BOOBS

A TEXAS model was saved in a car crash - thanks to her 38KKK (Australian size 16KKK) breasts.
Sheyla Hershey escaped with only bruising.

"They saved my life," the 32-year-old Brazilian said. "They cushioned the impact of the blow. I would be dead without them. My breasts stopped my face and my head being hit. I am so thankful for them."

Hershey, who has had at least 10 boob jobs and plans to increase her bust size to 38MMM, crashed near her home in Houston.

"I was on my way to meet my husband and our two kids at a friend's house, but I started to feel dizzy," she said.
"I swerved to avoid a dog and ended up writing off my car. I hit a tree, spun round three times and then hit another tree on the other side of the road. But I am OK. It could have been much worse."

Sheyla Hershey started out as a B-cup, but 13 years, 22 operations, $250,000 and five litres of saline later she is a whopping KKK.

Despite not being able to find clothes that fit, tie her shoelaces or jog, she says she still loves her breasts "like they are my kids".
"They are the most good thing in my life," Hershey told television program My Strange Addiction, even though they had to be done in Brazil because Texas law limits the amount of silicone that can be injected into breast implants.
Hershey has 2.51 litres of silicone in each breast.

20,000 COUPLES WED AT ONCE... AND MORE WEIRD NEWS

More than 20,000 church followers gathered for the ceremony at a stadium in Gapyeong, 47 miles northeast of Seoul.

The founder of the church, Sun Myung Moon, and his wife were there to bless the mass ceremony. They sprinkled holy water over selected couples and declared them married.
"The mass wedding leads all mankind to be one, removing the boundaries of ethnicities, religions and nationalities. Our goal is making the world peaceful with forming new families," said Seuk Joon-ho, President of the Unification Church of Korea.
Couples from South Korea and abroad hugged each other and celebrated after exchanging wedding rings.
"This whole experience has been absolutely amazing. I mean really really happy to have met Lisun (his bride) and really happy that we are together now and really look forward to years ahead and so getting to know her well," said a bridegroom Chouchane Saemie, from the UK.
The church has been derided for its mass weddings as thousands of participants were matched with future spouses whom some of them had just met before the ceremony, and in many cases, did not speak the same language.

CONFRONT YOUR FEARS

A lioness that approached a waterbuck in anticipation of an easy meal got a nasty shock when the antelope turned the tables and charged at her. The lioness ran away, lucky not to have been seriously gored. The stand-off was caught on film by photographer Daryl Balfour at the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya

Three Sisters and a case of Sperm

Gangs of women in Zimbabwe have been picking up male travellers to have sexual intercourse and harvest their sperm, according to reports.

Susan Dhliwayo claims she pulled her car over recently to pick up a group of male hitchhikers and they refused to get in, because they feared they were going to be raped.
"Now, men fear women. They said: 'we can't go with you because we don't trust you'," 19-year-old Miss Dhliwayo recounted.
Local media have reported victims of the highway prowlers being drugged, subdued at gun or knife point – even with a live snake in one case – given a sexual stimulant and forced into repeated sex before being dumped on the roadside.
The sperm hunters first surfaced in the local press in 2009 but police have only arrested three women, found with a plastic bag of 31 used condoms in October. The attacks have continued since they were nabbed for allegedly violating 17 men.
"We do not have the exact number of confirmed cases," said national police spokesman Wayne Bvudzijena.

Sisters Sophie Nhokwara (26), Netsai Nho...Sisters Sophie Nhokwara (26), Netsai Nhokwara (24) and Rosemary Chakwizira (28) leave Harare Magistrates court on November 29, 2011 after a pre-trial hearing for attacking male hitchhikers to collect semen for rituals. The women allegedly used different cars to pick up 14 other men and forced themselves on them. They were arrested early in October when they were involved in a car accident, and police found 31 used condoms in the boot of their car.
"These cases occurred mostly when the victims were hitchhiking and boarded private vehicles. We encourage people to use public transport."
The sperm's exact use is not clear but is thought to be intended for "juju" or traditional rituals to bring luck – anything from enhancing good fortune, boosting business or preventing a criminal from being detected.
It is also not known why the semen is taken forcibly from strangers.
"It's really an issue which is mind boggling," said University of Zimbabwe sociologist Watch Ruparanganda, who believes it is a lucrative business. "It's quite a big mystery. Obviously we know (it is) being used for rituals."
Ruparanganda said he was astonished to discover seven years ago that semen appeared to have become a tradable commodity, while doing research for his doctoral thesis among Harare street youth who told him that businessmen would take them to hotels, give them new clothes and ply them with booze.
They were then told to pick a prostitute and to hand over the used condom after sex.
"It just shows there's some big racket somewhere, some big guys driving everything, but they are in the background and using these ladies," said Ruparanganda.
The Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers Association criticised the practice.
"We believe that this is a form of witchcraft. So we are totally against the idea," said spokesman George Kandiyero.
"It has really frightened people," he said. "It has really brought in a bit of shock because normally it was the other way round, normally we know of men raping women, not women raping men."
A Zimbabwean women's rights group has criticised the spotlight shifting to male rape victims, and paid for a newspaper advert to deplore that violence against women in the country is not met with the same degree of shock.
The three women linked to the case, meanwhile, have stirred much attention and public anger. Audiences pack into the dreary courtrooms each time they appear in the dock, and one of their lawyers said they have received death threats.
No law in Zimbabwe criminalises rape by women so the trio, arrested with one man, face 17 counts of aggravated indecent assault, though no trial date has as yet been set.
Dumisani Mthombeni, a lawyer for two of the women and the man, complained that five months after their arrest, prosecutors have yet to produce DNA test results, a charge sheet or witness statements but nonetheless have "paraded (the women) on national television as female rapists".
"We have not been given anything – nothing," Mthombeni said. "We believe they don't want us to go to trial because they arrested the wrong people."
The case has triggered a mix of shock, intrigue and humour – such as one newspaper cartoon showing a nude hitchhiker hoping to be picked up by a female driver – but also fear among some men.
"Of course we are scared," said a 26-year-old hitchhiker on a highway south of Harare, adding he would not get into a car driven by a woman.
"Even if she's old, we can't."
