President of the Senate, David Mark, has commended Nigerians for the outcome of the 2015 general elections. Speaking at the commencement of plenary, Senate President Mark noted that the outcome of the elections has clearly disappointed doomsday prophets who predicted disaster and even a possible breakup of this country.
Senator Mark also commended the maturity and sportsmanship displayed by President Goodluck Jonathan who willingly conceded defeat and congratulated the president elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari even before the Independent National Electoral Commission announced the result. He maintained that, that singular act saved the country from a possible crisis and catastrophe.
The Senate President who also commended Professor Attahiru Jega and his team at INEC for the introduction of Card Readers however urged the electoral body to note the areas of its shortcomings.
